thai food and the scene at this location is great. Staff treated us so nice. The prices are fair for the quality of food.

The fried wontons were like eating plain Doritos. The meat inside was really dry and lacked a lot of flavor. The Thai tea is average. Its not really hard to make Thai tea but it was good. The coconut soup was good but same thing. Lacked flavor. The owner was nice and welcoming and that is the reason why I gave it 3 stars other than 2.

This place is lidgit. Best Thai food around. The peanut sauce is the real deal. Coconut soup is out of control. Pad Thai is on point and way better than anyone else's.

Normally you usually go to a place and naturally they are Pleasant but here the owner truly treats you as if your family everyone knew him by name and he knew everyone by name his food is truly authentic and so so very good if you haven't tried it you must at least give it a try at least once and I can guarantee you you will be back time and time again .. 1000🌟from me 😊

I dine in this nice place often! This is the best place to pass a nice evening. I go there routinely. The food is great, the staff is professional and the cost is good. I enjoy meeting in this spot for a rich supper.

Most healthiest Thai Food with excellent taste. Other Thai restaurants will make you run for water,because of over use of salt ,msg, and etc. This restaurant will give you excellent taste and healthy meals.

Small restaurant so I always take out since it's normally packed and rarely slow so I took a picture but once I was leaving poeple were coming in. There food is always hot/freshly made Everytime.... The owner is a very nice guy too... Highly recommended

Thai food... delicious. I should have took a photo of the food but it was too good to interrupt. Service is consistently great. The bill was good for what you get.

Great value and excellent food. The fragrance and spice level, in addition to the obvious freshness of the food and preparation, we're very good. And the quantity was completely unexpected. I'll be back next time I'm in the area. This was a takeout meal, and the decor could use some spit & polish, but that's OK. The food is the key.

Very fresh ingredients!

Great food. Everything is fresh so it takes a bit of time but it’s worth the wait. The crab fried rice is yummy. The ginger is good and the curry is also good. The sticky rice ice cream was great. No kids menu. Not a lot of seating but not very busy. Lots of evening light so be careful where you sit. The owner is nice and will tell you stories of Thailand. We loved it.

Recently we were in the Fresno/Clovis area and wanted Thai food for dinner. We checked the local listings and decided to try the Thai Gem, based upon the high ratings it had received from other diners.When we walked in, we met Wit, the owner and were happily surprised. Wit introduced us to his Thai cooking in the mid-1980's at the Bangkok Kitchen in North Fresno. We had many enjoyable meals at his earlier restaurant, and his food inspired me to learn how to cook Thai.We lost track of Wit in the late 1990's, his restaurant changed hands and he returned to Thailand. We left California in 2002 and have only returned intermittently over the years.Wit has had the Thai Gem open for the past 7 years. The food is authentic and delicious. Wit really enjoys his customers and prides himself on serving the very best quality Thai food.Reuniting with Wit after all these years was magical. I just wish I was closer to enjoy his food more often.Check the Thai Gem out. I know you will enjoy it!

I don’t know about sticky Pad Thai as this is the best anywhere around these parts. Thai Gem use to be the Bangkok in Fresno where they had no parking. Took 12 years to rediscover this place.

The food here is amazing, the restaurant is clean and the staff was freindly. It doesn't look like much from the outside and its fairly simple inside but, the food is freshly made and delicious. The prices are ok, but its no wonder why this place has been here for 16 years now.

This place is a true hidden gem. Everything is made from scratch and made to order. Don't expect a quick turnaround or even for plates to arrive at the same time, but do expect amazing Thai food, with friendly service. We just tried it for the first time last Friday, but I definitely plan to return!

OMG BEST THAI FOOD EVER. This is authentic thai food more on the Indian side than Chinese. This place has great spicy coconut chicken soup, pad thai, and homemade sweet and sour sauce I haven't tried anything there yet that I don't like

Not authentic Thai food! I would say the food tastes more Chinese than Thai. Ordered the crispy pork and it came in small chunks drowned in sweet and sour sauce! That is not how Thai crispy pork is prepared. The basil fried rice was good. Also ordered tum yum shrimp soup, minced chicken, fried squid, beef salad, eggplant dish, mango salad and papaya salad. Almost every dish was very sweet. I don't recommend this place for thai food.

My first visit to the Thai Gem was a very pleasant experience. I was warmly greeted by the owner who informed me of the 35yr. family business. Within that time span no one has ever caught food poisoning due to every meal being freshly made and prepared for your satisfaction. As for me, I ordered Chicken Pad Thai and Soup Coconut Milk which was absolutely delicious (hot & fresh). Without hesitation I highly recommend the homestyle restaurant, Thai Gem.

Amazing place.. Family style. Tasty. Authentic. Solid eats. Never get stomachache. Vegetable Pad Thai only so the flavor of the pad thai such as tamarind and fish sauce shine, papaya salad, bbq beef salad, peanut sauce, mango sticky rice... The best combinations of all time without breaking your budget.Update: years later and they still have the food quality and taste expected and depends on. It explains how this place gather many "regulars" who know the menu in their memories and know the owner by stories. Depends on the time, rarely, they get overwhelm and service may seems slow, however, it doesn't affect the food taste. They always say: "good things come to those who wait" so just sit back, catch up with your love ones, take some deep breaths because the food will be enjoyable when it comes.

If you want authentic Thai food then you need to visit Thai Gem. Most area Thai restaurants are really Lao, Vietnamese, Cambodian or any mixture of south East Asian foods. Many of them are very good, but not strictly Thai and although some of those areas share the same dishes they are all prepared differently. The ingredients here are always fresh and all dishes are made to order. They’ll also customize anything to your preference. The owner is very proud of his food and will often stop at the table to chat. This can sometimes be nice and other times annoying and he doesn’t have a good self indicator to make that judgment call at times. Overall I recommend any Thai food fan to pay them a visit.

The owner a humble humours man waits his own table and boy can his chef cook. All Thai dishes are made to order. I asked for a vegetarian styel dish and he very much made it happen.Super clean for a quaint hole in the wall.Try the Veggie Special with Tofu.

If you're looking for a place to eat during your lunch break, this is not the place! The service is extremely slow, and the gentleman who takes care of the customers is not the most friendliest person. Overall, food quality is fair.Personally I would recommend Thai Country, located at Bullard and Villa. It is in the same parking lot as the gas station. The food there is absolutely incredible! Since they are very very popular, they open at 11 a.m. Tuesday through Friday, you need to get there early, since it packs so fast. Thai Gem restaurant... I would pass on this place if I were you.
